Software firm adds school spirit to PCs

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP -- Wolverines and Seminoles can decorate their PCs with their favorite logos, colors and graphics thanks to new locally produced software that lets users customize their desktops.

Stardock introduced its MyColors software with Florida State University in December, added the University of Michigan this month, and plans another 30 schools in the coming months. The company intends to roll out MyColors for professional teams and other forms of entertainment in the near future, said Phil Madis, director of business development for Stardock, which calls itself the world's leading desktop enhancement company.

For years, Stardock has customized the look of desktops for companies and offered software that enables consumers to change their Microsoft Windows interface.

Franklinville father faces murder charges

A 24-year-old Franklinville man was indicted Wednesday on charges that included first-degree murder in connection with the death of his 3-month-old son.

William J. Duncan Sr. of Buttercup Lane was watching television with his son, William Duncan Jr., early on May 23, according to the prosecutor's office.

The father struck the baby on the head and threw the infant across the room, Prosecutor Sean Dalton said in May. The child hit an aquarium stand and died shortly after the incident. The baby's mother, Delsea Regional High School student Angelina Vanderpoel, 17, was asleep in a different room at the time of the incident, authorities said in May.

The child died from head injuries, which included a 4-inch fracture on his skull from hitting the stand, according to the prosecutor's office.

Dixie Chicks Lead Grammys With 5 Awards

The Dixie Chicks completed a defiant comeback on Sunday night, winning five Grammy awards after being shunned by the country music establishment over the group's anti-Bush comments leading up to the Iraq invasion.

The Texas trio won record and song of the year for the no-regrets anthem "Not Ready to Make Nice." They also won best country album, which was especially ironic considering that the group says they don't consider themselves country artists anymore.

"I'm ready to make nice!" lead singer Natalie Maines exclaimed as the group accepted the album of the year award. "I think people are using their freedom of speech with all these awards. We get the message."

Mary J. Blige's comeback also was richly rewarded: She received three trophies for her double-platinum album "The Breakthrough." The Red Hot Chili Peppers won three as well for their double-disc "Stadium Arcadium."

The Dixie Chicks won all five awards they were nominated for, sweet vindication after the superstars' lives were threatened and sales plummeted when Maines criticized President Bush on the eve of the Iraq war in 2003.

Zsa Zsa Gabor's Husband: 'I Fathered Anna Nicole's Baby'

LOS ANGELES -- The husband of actress Zsa Zsa Gabor had a decade-long affair with Anna Nicole Smith and may be her daughter's father, he told The Associated Press on Friday.

The claim, by Prince Frederick von Anhalt, comes amid a paternity suit over Smith's 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn. The birth certificate lists Dannielynn's father as attorney Howard K. Stern, but Hollywood photographer and former boyfriend Larry Birkhead is waging a legal challenge, saying he is the father.

"If you go back from September, she wasn't with one of those guys, she was with me," von Anhalt told The Associated Press. He said he would file a lawsuit if Dannielynn is turned over to Stern or Birkhead.

Meanwhile, a judge on Friday refused to order an emergency DNA test on the body of Anna Nicole Smith as part of a paternity suit involving her infant daughter, but he ordered that the body be preserved until a hearing in 10 days, attorneys said.

O'Donnell Questioned Smith's Health Hours Before She Died

(andPOP) - US TV presenter ROSIE O'DONNELL raised fears about ANNA NICOLE SMITH's health live on air on Thursday, just hours before the former Playboy Playmate collapsed and died in a Florida hotel room. Speaking on TV show THE VIEW, O'Donnell alleged that Smith was dabbling in drugs and was clearly struggling with the heartbreak of losing her son DANIEL last year. She said, "If I have to see Anna Nicole Smith on television one more time... She can hardly speak now. "It's a tragedy all around. Her son died. She has this little baby. Obviously some kind of medication or substance involved." Smith was found unconscious in her hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Thursday afternoon. According to hotel officials, Smith was "unresponsive" and emergency crews performed CPR at the scene and a breathing apparatus was inserted in her throat.
