| Thursday's Celebs
We have something called "naked Sundays,' " the 26-year-old pop star tells Ellen DeGeneres in an interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." "You have to keep marriage alive, spice it up," says Aguilera, who married Bratman in November 2005. So the couple stays in on Sundays, she says. "We do everything naked. We cook naked." No marriage planned for Carrey, lady love Jim Carrey says he and his lady love, actress Jenny McCarthy, aren't planning to get married. "No, we're never getting married, but we're never getting divorced, which is fantastic," the 45-year-old actor said on Tuesday's edition of "Access Hollywood." Will he get her a ring at least? "I bought her a Chloe purse," he jokes. "Isn't that good enough?" Carrey and McCarthy, 34, went public with their romance last year.
Mongrels' Idol hand
She belted out the new Mongrels tune City Living off a sheet of paper with such power and conviction that Dickson hired her on the spot. According to Dickson, despite the fact that Amy T. had never sung with a rock 'n' roll band, she seemed very poised and confident, almost like she'd been through a similar process before. "I'd wanted to work with a female singer for a long time," explains Dickson from his Montreal home, "and once I heard Amy, we started working together right away. I hadn't seen her on Canadian Idol and I didn't even know she'd been a contestant. She didn't tell us anything about her Canadian Idol experience, thinking that being the rock snobs we are, we would've said, 'Sorry, no chance!' Afterwards, I saw a clip on You Tube of her singing a Shikasta song that was pretty funny." Oddly enough, Amy T.
5 Grammys Mark Dixie Chicks' Comeback
The Dixie Chicks completed a defiant comeback on Sunday night, capturing five Grammy awards after being shunned by the country music establishment over the group's anti-Bush comments leading up to the Iraq invasion. The Texas trio won all the biggest categories, including record and song of the year for the no-regrets anthem "Not Ready to Make Nice." They also won best country album, which was especially ironic considering they don't consider themselves country artists anymore. "I'm ready to make nice!" lead singer Natalie Maines exclaimed as the group accepted the album of the year award. "I think people are using their freedom of speech with all these awards. We get the message." Mary J. Blige's comeback also was richly rewarded: She received three trophies for her double-platinum album "The Breakthrough." The Red Hot Chili Peppers won four for their double-disc "Stadium Arcadium." The Dixie Chicks won all five awards they were nominated for, sweet vindication after the superstars' lives were threatened and sales plummeted when Maines criticized President Bush on the eve of the Iraq war in 2003.
Squirrel Attacks Plague Mountain View Park
(CBS 5) MOUNTAIN VIEW Parents at Cuesta Park in Mountain View keep an eye not only on their kids, but on the squirrels. "There was a squirrel, I guess it smelled food somewhere on the playground, so it was ransacking the strollers," says Susan Moriarity, who comes to the park everyday with her 21-month-old son Jack. "I didn't realize until we got back to the car that he had chewed a hold through my stroller." They've even attacked humans. Since May of last year, squirrels have bitten or scratched 18 people, including two attacks in the past month. City officials are still planning to trap and kill the aggressive squirrels. They initially planned to use tube traps that would squish the squirrels to death, but the plan itself was squashed after hundreds of people expressed outrage. City workers are now switching tactics.
